"Hyacinth Girl is a film of silence and suffocation.Two women isolate themselves in a country house where nature erases the markers of time and place, leaving them in a state of stagnation. One tends to the other, whose life is devoid of hope and is sealed in depression. Language has become a failure and is stripped of its function. Tactile sounds and the faint textures at one’s fingertips become the sole cues to vaguely understand the other.As every attempt at communication seems to fail, the film seeks to reflect the fragile nature of hope and human connection."
